I'm pretty sure everyone is getting this but notice if you maximize your wlm window your scene gets pixelated? even in the convo box it does that, you maximize the convo box and the skin from your contact becomes stretched. is this just a bug or are they planning on fixing it cause it's not good for it's interface since many people have their messenger maximized.

It's because the image becomes stretched, the same will happen with any image if you open it in an image editing program and make it bigger than it actually is.

In reality, it can't be fixed

It could be, actually, if they would sample down the image from a bigger dimensioned original rather than cropping it.

The scene in the convo window seems to behave differently from the contact list anyway, as it starts to display further down from the top than in the contact list, thus cutting some things off in the convo if you have adjusted your image to look good in the CL.

the weird thing is that i browsed my theme from my own pictures and the orignal size of the image 1920 x 1200 and i don't see how its possible that can be stretched.

When you import it the picture will probably be scaled down and reduced in quality to save resources and future loading times, etc

this should be looked upon releasing the next version

The problem is that they've got the scenes' resolution messed up.
The image you selected is resized to a 640x320 resolution (looks like it is 640x220 in the RC). Yet, the dashbar is never that tall.

Here is a side-by-side comparison on a 1024x768 resolution to see the difference of the resized scene and the scene in WLM:



It also seems that they are over-sharpening the image in an attempt to make it look better (because of the zoom).

Yes, I know, the jpg compression kills the quality, but you get the idea.

They need to make the scenes wider...

so what's the chance of MS fixing this?

Seeing as the low quality display pics still haven't been fixed, and the scenes upload to their servers too, probably nada. ;x
