It works. It has been mentioned in a private changelog (for Beta Testers)

for some reason, hiding the ad banner in the contacts list doesn't work (running windows XP SP3, Plus 4.8, WLM 14)

actually it worked perfectly for me using this configuration:

Windows XP Service Pack 3 (5.1.2600)
Windows Live Messenger 14.0.1202
Messenger Plus! Live 4.80.0.356
A-Patch Version: 1.43 (build 1)


I noticed some time ago that there were/are (?) problems using a-patch after installing plus! .....

that is odd, I have tried uninstalling Plus and re-installing a-patch first but still not hiding the ad banner
