I've done some reading and what it comes down to is I buggered up the operation!
I have windows live with the plus installed.
I downloaded a skin (was not aware that I was useing live #9 and it was for 8.5) when it wouldn't open I went to "open with" and now my 'puter see's all PSLK files to be open with.....
I downloaded an appropiate skin (for live 9) but cannot apply it because it was to open with.....
I am useing xp media edition with the sp3, EI 7 and have all updates.
I've tried opening with plus but there is no executable there but "party" and that does not work....
Any suggestions ideals or techniques would be greatly appreciated....and in advance....

What version of Messenger Plus! Live are you using?

When you double click the PLSK file it should automatically import if Plus is installed and functioning correctly.  It won't ask you what to open it with

try telling it to open with Messenger Plus (right click>properties>opens with>browse)

When double clicked it opens "welcome to Party mode" when browsing for a program messenger plus shows no .exe to open it with.
I think I have to find a way to bring back the original settings of the file for it to work.
Example, it will not have a suggestion what to open it with?
As for the plus version, I downloaded it last night with the windows live version nine...but will take a look to see if installed and what version it is....

Ok further info, when gone to c/programs/windows plus and right click/properties I get a date, no version, march25 2005

Party mode?

There's no party mode in any of this.

To find your versions of Windows Live Messenger and Messenger Plus Live send (!VER) in a conversation in messenger, then copy and paste the result in here, it will look like this:

Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 (6.0.6001)
Windows Live Messenger 14.0.0206
Messenger Plus! Live 4.80.0.356

but with different numbers

Ignore what Shiny Rabbit said, you CANNOT open with Messenger Plus Live, PLSK files will open AUTOMATICALLY when double clicking if Messenger Plus Live is installed correctly

You dont have (the official) Plus! installed. Please download it from http://www.msgpluslive.net/download/
