RE: Zuiver Nederlands/Proper Dutch
Het is volgens mij niet bedoeld als officiële vertaling...
Het is bedoelt als een vertaling ZONDER leenwoorden. In dit geval is 'zuiver nederlands' zeer slecht gekozen. Aangezien 'zuiver' ook kan betekenen: 'zonder engelse woorden' of 'woorden vanuit het woordenboek'...
'BTL Nederlands' zou beter zijn; BTL = Bond Tegen Leenwoorden
Tochjo, er staan veeeeeeeeel woorden niet in de Van Dale... 'Varuw' is idd oud-nederlands voor 'kleur' (wat afkomstig is van 'color') en het wordt trouwens nu nog gebruikt in de wetenschap...
PS: 'Nederlandsch' is ook oud-nederlands en het huidige woord Nederlands is GEEN leenwoord....

IMO, it is not meant to be an official translation...
It's meant to be a translation WITHOUT words derived from other languages. In this case 'pure' dutch is choosen very badly. Because 'pure' can mean 'without english words' or 'words only from the dictionary'.
'BTL' would be better; BTL=association against words from other languages.
Tochjo, there exits many words that aren't in the dictionary.
'Varuw' is indeed an old-dutch word from the midle-ages, which means color (and 'color' is derived from the latin 'color'). It is still used in science like chemestry.
