I don't know if it's more a bug or a translation problem, but i found something:

Je ne sais pas s'il s'agit plus d'un bogue ou d'une erreur de traduction, mais voici ce que j'ai trouvé:

In/Dans     [PrefDlg.POPMail]

In the Preferences, in the "POP3 Email" options (in french : "courrier POP3"), the content of the french PasswordLabel string ("Mot de passe :") isn't totally displayed, there is only "Mot de".
There is room for a 11 characters string only, or this one is 14 characters long!!
So we need more room, or a shorter word for "Mot de passe", wich i do not know!!

Dans les préférences, rurique courrier POP3, le contenu de la chaine PasswordLabel en français ("Mot de passe :") ne s'affiche pas entièrement, seul "Mot de" est affiché.
Une chaine de 11 caractères peut tenir, or PasswordLabel en français en fait 14!!
Il faut donc plus de place, ou un synonyme plus court de "Mot de passe", ce que j'avoue ne pas connaitre!!!

That's a problem all translators face. This is solved by looking for (shorter) alternatives. Unfortunaly my French is very bad and I can't give you any suggestion. Maybe a synonym-dictionannry will help?

The length of the textboxes are not measured in characters but in pixels; some characters take more pixels to show...

And in some textboxes, if the last word on the line is just too long to display, the word is wrapped to a second line. But afcourse you don't see that cause there is only 1 line being displayed...

Ouais, à la limite "passe" ça devrait suffire.... Font chier aussi à mettre des textbox de 3 pixels de large !

C'est pour ça que j'ai tous mes logiciels en anglais d'ailleurs, ça me saoule ces traductions à la con...

yeah but isnt the French spoken in Canada like the English that was spoken in the 1800's

Yep, and we suggested Patchou many times to make the textboxes bigger but that's not allways possible

He's very busy coding plus and doing the english version so he said he wouldn't be able to translate plus into french

Yeah! And they're cheeky enough to tell the French that they speak better french than the natives.... tss tss

"mot de passe" i guess, yeah it's the best one

on dis "mot-clé" n'est pas? pr something like that

never noticed that bug before lol, neither had the other translators

I think the best alternative is M.D.P. .. Can't find another one

BTW, mot-clé stands for keyword and french ppl don't say 'mot secret'

It will be fixed in the next version ^^ (everybody agree for M.D.P.?)


Edit : we finally chose 'Passe', any french speaking person should understand it, i hope..
