O.P. Suggestion
Just a small thing.. When we're talking with more than one person in a window, and we want to transfer things, messenger opens another window olny with the person we want to transfer...
what if we could transfer the file without opening a new window or even transfer the same thing to everyone?

RE: Suggestion
It's a good suggestion. however I don't think it's possible due to the way the protocol works. Files have to be sent to only one person. If multiple people receive the same file, several connections would have to be made and I don't think that Microsoft implements this in the near future.

RE: Suggestion
i think it's possible using a convo where multiple people are and then send the split file with MSG commands. everyone would receive it.

what? I don't get you. To send a file, an internet connection has to be established, and it has to be point to point (implementing a broadcast group of IP addresses would be too complex for only sending a file).

RE: Suggestion
The file transfer feature works peer-to-peer, so to send the file to all contacts would need several connections. Transfers can already be slow enough without even more slowness.

You oviouslt didn't understand me. When sending an MSG command to a multiple user session, they all get the message, so why not try to transfer files using that?

RE: Suggestion
That would mean sending non-standard commands. The MSG command is intended for text only, not for any other payload. The file transfer system was never designed to use the MSG command.
Also, the payload of such a command would have to be uploaded to the server (placing unnecessary strain on it) then forwarded to all participants (putting even more strain on it). This could quite conceivably bring the server down.
