Hello,

I have some sad news: today, a bunch of morons hacked my main server and destroyed its content. I just lost access to many of my servers, my emails, and a lot of other stuff. This shows once again how secure Linux can be (don't start arguing about this, now is not the time). I'll replace the dead server by a brand new one, this time with Windows 2003 installed. Don't expect IRC to be back up for some time.

Message to the hackers: if you are currently reading this and are responsible for the hack, you should know that some people are already working on the logs to find out where the attack came from. Once it will have been dicovered (and, don't worry, it will), I'll hand the case to my attorneys in the United States, your ISP will be contacted and you will be prosecuted. This is not a threat, just a warning of what's awaiting you in March. Jaelousy has its limits.

The new server is running an updated IRCd and services meaning it is protected from the latest exploits. Security is a major concern of mine, and any abuse of this server will not be tolerated, at any time.

Patchou: I'm not happy reading that. I know how you fell. Well, let's hope that the development of MP!3 isn't be affected by this.

That's sad news indeed. I'm jelous too - those hackers are too 1337.

What about the innocent newbies you fool into installing a piece of dogy adware, what about the decreased performance of my laptop computer, what about my constantly crashing Internet Explorer? These problems don't fix themselves, computer technicians aren't free.

Perhaps the damage youve contributed to on all the innocent n00bs computers, is comparable to the damage that the hackers have done to your server (if you devide by how many downloads)...

I feel sorry for Patchou. After his hard drive problems, he now has to face a bunch of losers who try to be l33t, but so aren't. Excuse me, but hacking other people's property is plain stupid and not to mention illegal. Illegal things should be punished.

I see some people take this as an opportunity to give negative comments on Patchou and his software. I will not go into discussion now, but I must say I find this very, very pathetic. I still rest my case with "if you can't read, don't complain".

Patchou i hope you get this problem rectified it's a shame and recent attacks need sorting with legal action

Good point I wouldnt be surprised, cause a lot of users come on irc and are very angry and maybe it messed with the wrong person this time.

Well if they are intellectually challenged enough to install the sponser i doubt they could hack a server and completely mess it up.

Its people who do this that make the internet no fun, what a bunch of freaking morons. Sorry to hear about it Patchou, this really sucks.
