Instead of giving that link, give the link to the download page itself, so A) people know what they are downloading and B) they can choose their language Or at least say what they're gonna download (English Windows Messenger 4.7)

Windows Messenger doesn't need to be started for other applications to use it's API, it simply needs to be installed.

Hi, first thanks for this excellent plugin, it's already an indispensable part of my system

This may have already been reported but here goes, just in case:

My only problem with Tabbed MSN right now is the problem of keyboard focus.  Specifically, when I switch to my open conversations window, the currently active tab has the keyboard focus.  I really want the keyboard focus to be automatically placed in the message typing box.  In other words, whenever I have an incoming message, I have to first click on the conversations window in my taskbar, then I have to click in the correct box to type a message. This is a bit annoying, since without tabbed MSN, the focus goes where you'd want it to automatically.

That is it!  Fix that and I'm done!!

the site's in Dutch so for anyone who doesn't know how to get there; under the menu;
MSN Stuff:Addons en Plugins\Tabbed MSN:Laat alle chatvensters samenkomen in een venster, erg handig als je veel online contactpersonen heb en ook nog wil internetten!(beta) ;<just click on it ;install it to *\Messenger Plus! 2\Plugins ;restart MSN

And everything worked fine by me



btw is there a newer version since the one at the beginning of this thread?

I downloaded the one posted in the first post it gives me an error...

Get it from microsoft.com i believe there is an article in the knowledge base just search for  it

Ok, so you need to d/l Windows Messenger (in order to have its API) which Tabbed MSN borrows.
Fine.

At home i'm using WinXP.  Windows Messenger is for WinXP.

At work I'm using Win2000... hey... wait a second....
NOT FINE!!


What should I do?  Usually I'd experiment and try to get it to work, however I don't want to potentialy screw-up my work computer.  If anyone has got it to run on 2000, then can you give me some info?  Tabbed MSN sounds great - let's hope I can use it

Nevermind my last post people!  As usual I took a closer look at what CookieRevised () wrote, and it should solve my problems!!

In his most recent post, CookieRevised linked to another post explaining "differences between Win Msgr 4.7 and 5.0".
This post has more info relating to Win2000.

For anyone interested, Win2000 users will need to use Windows Messenger 5.0.0482.

I haven't tried this as yet, but info on the Micro$oft site indicates this is the way to go.

When I have a free second I'll install and let you all know how it turns out.

Now everything works fine to me, but when I click on enable it shows a pop up, tab... enabled. But I cant see that because it just opens in different windows still... what to do?
