When I set F9 as a shortcut for the quick icons panel, it makes the 'x' key the shortcut key.

Oh, and F8 makes W the the quick icon button. I guess nearly all F buttons make an alphanumeric key the shortcut key.

F1-F11 are linked to P-Z.
I didn't find anything for F12 quickly (would have to look up the code for the next key), but there's very likely to be a linkage, though.
I've tested in several stations and I can't reproduce this problem. Don't expect a fix in Plus!3, sorry . Just to be sure I understand: when you assign F9 to the quick icon panel and you press F9 in a chat, you get the letter x instead of the quick icon panel. Is that right? Do you experience the same problem if you press F9 in the preferences panel (quick text section).
