If you create a thread then the Admin Options Panel is available to you, mind you, you cant use it, but its still there. This should be hidden if the user doesn't have the rights to it.

its not a bug as the subject states its wdz choice. whats wrong with these being available? if u click on them u will see the nice error/login page

WDZ knows about that, MyBB doesn't hide it.

well i was able to delete a thread using the admin options panel without gettin an error screen but i havnt tried much other then that

As long as you started the thread you can press this button


That will delete the entire thread.

Yeah, the admin options are hidden from all users that cannot use them, except thread authors who can (depending on the forums permissions) delete their thread at any time.

It's not really a bug as such, but while ever the button is there, the menu really has no purpose for anyone other than moderators and administrators.
