O.P. Huh?  Which files ? where ?
Hello everybody !


Does anybody knows in wich files are saved my Messenger settings ( avatar selection, personal emoticons .... ). And where are they ?
So that I can just save this files and restaur them after a new installation ?

C:\Documents And Settings\<User Name>\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\<your id number>

(you can find your ID number by downloading http://shoutbox.menthix.net/attachment.php?pid=132217 and typing in your email address)

The DP's will be in the UserTile folder, CE's in the Custom Emoticons folder and Backgrounds in the Backgrounds folder.

Copy the files to a different location and then rename them from .dat to .png. and they will become normal, editable, image files.

You can make a backup of the setting of Msg Plus! (not MSN Plus :)).
Plus! --> Preferences --> at the bottom you'll find "Backup.."

That is ONLY for NT based windows versions and Win2k! In the other Windows versions (9x) the directoy is different....
