when someone opens a convo/window, it pings like a lift.

How can i turn this off? cant seem to see any options.

If i simply delete the "newconvo.wav" file will this cause errors?

You could do that, but I'd advise you just did this since it's the safe method...Main Messenger Window > Tools > Options > General > Uncheck Play a sound when contacts sign in or send a message

Go to Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Sounds tab

Go to the bottom of that list, and you will see the stuffplug sound. You can edit it to anything you want.

tools > options > general > sounds > Sounds (tab)

and its at the bottom
