There has been so many threads about this my head is going to explode ...it is impossible to do with a plugin and I believe the protocol only allows certain amounts of characters in names as well!

but this would still be a great plugin for ppl who like to add color in their name

Its true that having colour in your name does take up more space, however you can have more then 100 characters in your name curently which is very decent considering its only supposed to have 'your name' there. Other things like song lyrics and quotes just arn't nessesary

So in general the current ammount is fine.

and i wouldn't even talk with someone that has a name as long as a book so i am happy with "how long your name can be"right now

It would help sometimes but it would mostly just piss me off with the amount of names id have to read before the message i think the current limit is fine.
