help, I recently upgraded to XP and everytime i sign into msn it signs back out within 2-3 mins and i've changed my password and its still logging me out.
can sum1 help please

Perhaps this could be the work of a Firewall also installed with Windows XP?

i've got zone alarm installed.

The XP firewall doesn't block Messenger (I wonder why... ). Other firewall may, you just have to make sure to place msnmsgr.exe in the Allow List.

Due to differences in firewalls, your mileage may vary...

Check in Zonealarm if msn messenger is allowed to go on the net. If its allowed to access the net and u still experience problems try this: MSN servers

messenger is in the allow list, i've try'd the msn servers but still logging in/out every 2 mins.
i guess i'll have to live with xp firwall.

hey, i had the same problem as you, are you on a wireless network? I am, and i just updated to the very latest firmware etc, try it, gd luck man

i'm connected directly to the net, i've got the latest version of zonealarm. that might be an idea to connect my other computer to the net aswell on a wireless network, i'll *borrow* 1 o the wireless networks from wrk

I had this problem, check to see if windows messenger is also in the background, its the msn client bundled with windows xp.

within 2-3 mins of detecting an internet connection, windows messenger automatically tries to sign in, and if you are already signed in with msn messenger, you will be signed out, due to the fact you cannot be logged in twice at once.

just disable windows messenger from launching at startup.

N.B: MSN messenger is different from windows messenger.

I've got a similar problem too.
I tried the Msn servers,No luck. Msn Messenger is allowed in Zone alarm, and Windows Messenger isn't running in the background.

But, my msn signs out then signs in by it's self.
