I need help. My msn messenger has suddenly started not to show emoticons in peoples screenames, when then send one to me in a message and when i send one it just comes up with the characters not the emoticon? I tried disabling 'custom names' but that didnt work. Help!

are u displaying ur contacts by their email addresses? if so..

Contacts > Manage contacts > view contacts by > nickname
