O.P. Huh?  new e-mail warning with a non-hotmail address
I used to use MSN Messenger (without MSN Plus yet) with a Hotmail account, and every time a new e-mail arrived in my mail box and I was with the Messenger connected,  I received an advice of "New E-mail".

Now I criated another accound in MSN Messenger (with an  Gmail address) through Passport.net and   I'm using it,  I've  already insert some contacts, etc..... but I don't  receive any advice each time a new e-mail arrives me to this Gmail  account, even I'm connected with this address,  different of what used to heappen with the hotmail account.

Does anyone knows if there's any way that we can receive  warning of new e-mail if we're using an account different of hotmail?

PS - I'm not talking about  POP3 Servers,  just like Outlook.... it's on web even .

Impossible...

MSN Messenger only supports hotmail to check your email, nothing more...

With Plus! you can however extend that feature to POP3-emails. (and there is a program that you can use so you can check your gmail (which isn't pop3 btw) with the pop3 feature of Plus!, search the forum for this program or a link to it)

here it is http://jaybe.org/pgtgm/pgtgm.zip...You'll need something that opens .zip files to open it you can find WinZip to do that here http:\\www.winzip.com. Plus! can set this up in Main Messenger Window > Plus! > Preferences > POP3 E-mail...and you take it from there...

You are not referring to MSN Plus, you are referring to Messenger Plus! created by Patchou. MSN Plus! is a service owned by Microsoft...below are the links so you can inspect the difference

Not at the moment, but Google believes in helping people access information whenever and however they want to do so. In the future you will be able to access Gmail messages from non-Gmail accounts for free or at a nominal fee.
Sounds like forwarding to POP account instead of real POP access. Oh well, we'll se what the feature brings.
