Is there a version of IEDP for firefox out there

Well for a start: No, there's not (as far as I'm aware), and secondly: It would be called FFDP if there was....as I beleive the IE in IEDP stands for Internet Explorer

can it be made for firefox, or won't it work

Personally I'm unsure, IE was designed to use some of the same APIs as MSN Messenger, however Firefox doesn't, but I see no reason why there couldn't be an import style workaround...However since the IEDP didn't really take off much no one will develop it for FF.
