here's the story..

i can login just fine with my account on my laptop before, then one day i just cant login anymore..

• i tried the same account on my desktop, it works
  
• i tried using a different account on my laptop, it works
  
• i tried to login with the "broken" account on my laptop using windows messenger, it works..
  
• i tried to login on my desktop with the "broken" account and while still signed in, i login using my laptop with that "broken" account, the desktop got disconnected with "your account is being used on other computer" msg, but the laptop cant login...

there's no error msg when i cant login, it just goes back to the login screen after that connecting animation thingy.. this has also happened on my bro's computer with the same account but at that time i just didn't care coz i dont use my bro's comp often anyway.. on my desktop this has never happened before even though i hv been using it for around two years..

any idea? XD

Have you installed Messinger discovery on your laptop.
Because this can cause that problem. Try un-installing mess dis if you have it.

This seems a very similar problem to that caused by messenger discovery!

Go the messenger Discovery directory and run the uninstall file

Then go into C:\Documents And Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger and move all the folders to another directory (You will lose all your custom emotions and pictures)  then try and login!

It should be sucessful as I had this problem last week and this method worked for me

i never heard of messenger discovery before, but i tried to delete the files wabz mentioned, and i delete the domain thing in my regedit and it works, i can login from my laptop again! dunno which was the fix though.. or maybe both
