i was reading some threads about the nicknames, and i saw that a few people want to have the nick to change automatic or in some time and a few answered that it's very hard or it's imposible, but there is a messenger add-on called "messenger plus plus" that automatically changes your nick periodically, according to a list specified. i think it could be handy in this messenger

since when do you write ctrl +# lol... so is typing in all of the names into a plugin... and clicking around to find the plugin... thats just plain silly ¬_¬

Messinger Plus plus could very well be a proxy, then it is easy to do. But Msg plus does things by hooking with Messinger, which makes things alot different.

Patchou won't touch the protocol, so Plus will never be a proxy.

OK, I scoured all the APIs Messenger has, and there is nothing provided to change your display name. That leaves you with three solutions:

1. Use "/nick <nick>" in a conversation window (requires Plus)
   
2. Use system messages to simulate the user changing their nick in the Options dialog
   
3. Communicate with the server directly

In order of difficulty.
