O.P. remove/hide email link
is there a way to hide or remove the email link at the top of the contact list?

i no longer use the hotmail service and was wondering if removing/hiding the link was possible. sometimes i accidentally click on the link and my computer then spends time trying to find IE even though all traces have been removed (no IEPLORE.exe whatsoever) on the harddrive.

I don't think there is any way, however you can configure plus to chechk your pop3 email accounts and when you click on that bar, your default email client will be opened (outlook, etc...) (or te program you configure)

Congratulations, you've crippled Windows!

You shouldn't remove IE whatsoever, as it is a part of the OS. Parts of it are used by Messenger too, and many applications like to use parts of IE to get their Internet functionality implemented.

untrue, they use a DLL file, which is used by Iexplore.exe

I would still recommend against removing it.

Anyone know how to make the link jump to a different location on the internet? I tried patching it myself but for some reason it doesn't work... Perhaps a little patch where you choose whatever URL you want?
