I just got banned from IRC for doing an inbuilt god-IRC thing that made

"fiftkyhenry streaks across channel naked. I have run across 4 channels naked!"

appear.  I mean come on, this is quite obviously a harmless, victimless joke.  How on earth does it warrant a channel ban?

I have always been a big support of the MsgPlus community and Patchou, but now I am starting to have doubts.  Before long there won't be anyone left in your IRC channel unless you get some less hardline admins.

Do you have a sense of humour?

RE: IRC
#MsgPlus is a support channel. That means that we are there for support. We are not there for humour or idle chit-chat.

If you wish to use some crappy script then go ahead, but don't use it anywhere near #msgplus or you will be kicked/banned depending on the ops' current opinion of you.

If you only wish for humour/chat/whatever then you don't even need to join #msgplus. #Banana is our chat room. Join that instead.

Anyway, bans are removed after a few hours so stop your whining.

Your script was obviously an annoying script.

They are final. That means that we are right; you are wrong.

Ooh look! It's in the MOTD as well! Now you definately don't have an excuse.

All infringements of said rules will result in disciplinary action varying from a warning to a channel ban and if needed a network ban.

Of course the happenings in #msgplus do not in any way reflect Patchou or his software, so you being banned from #msgplus for rule breaking should not affect your view of Patchou's software. If it does then you need to re-think a few things.

Yeh ok you win, I just thought the MsgPlus community was more friendly :(
It doesn't affect my view of the software.

RE: IRC
It is friendly... But since it is a very large community there have to be some rules. Breaking rules means "punishment"...

Friendlyness and allowing spam/annoying things/etc don't have anything todo with eachother though...
