I've noticed that when I copy Messenger Plus! formatted text (like ctrl+b, ctrl+t, ctrl+k, etc) it just copies the text as if it had no formatting. I think it would be cool if when text is copied, the formatting is copied too. Just like in mIRC.

yes and no....

It depends on what you want todo with that copied text. I for one don't need the formatting codes, even not when I paste the text back in a MSN Messenger conversation.

I often copy/paste parts of convo's outside MSN Messenger (eg: to notepad), and if the formatting code was added, it would be a real pain in the *beep*.

So, it highly depends on what you realy want to do...

Are you sure? I never noticed that it copied the formatting also. And I just browsed every option in mIRC and can't find anything about it...

hmm it does for me maybe because i have nnscript. I see your point about copying the conversation to notepad, but to that i'm just gonna say Plus! makes chat logs anyway that are saved in .txt files. Or maybe a new copy function could be added, eg ctrl+alt+c or something to copy the text with formatting.

That's something totaly different and almost unrelated and of no use. I'm not talking about copying/pasting entire convo's, I'm talking about copying/pasting a certain line, just like you would copy/paste it...

mIRC copys with the formatting codes when you hold ctrl while highlighting.

yeah i think that would be a very handy feature i was actually gonna ask myself but then forgot about it ! It would definitly have to be turned off by default i think.. or as a hotkey! not sure

In my own personal opinion, having an option to turn it on/off in the preferences, would kinda be a pain as if you want to copy formatted text, you switch it on.... then 5 minutes later you want it not formatted...

you would be continuously switching from either.

It should just be implemented into the context menu when you right click...
