RE: Change bootscreen?
You can change the Windows XP boot screen (though I don't suggest it - it can cause problems), but not that one. That's your BIOS load screen, so you'd have to hack into your BIOS to change it.

That's not true blade. It's just an option you can turn off (not hack(in ur bios). Don't know how and where, but a friend of mine told me that was possible (yes he has the same thing with a Intel chipset)

Then that has something to do with his BIOS, because most BIOS do not allow you to change it.

The picture is stored in the CMOS so its a wee bit hard to change. You can disable it by loading into your BIOS and enabling the Boot Time Diagnostic screen what you will then see is POST. As for changing the boot screen in the CMOS I am not exactly sure about that.

Or i think its also called "Quiet boot" or "full screen logo" depending on the motherboard manufacturer.

it is possible (just like changing that save energy (or something) logo that pops up in the upper right corner of modern POST-sequences, but this requires flashing the CMOS (if flashing is allow of course)...

indeed. the CMOS is the very hart of the PC. You need a very very specialized and advanced program, especially made for your CMOS version/BIOS version to do that and you need to stick to very very strict rules of what can be shown (dimensions, colors, etc.). One bit wrong and your PC is fuxored (mostly) beyond repair. In other words, indeed you don't want to mess with that ;)
