O.P. Huh?  Help - Sound - Pls
Hi all,
First of all, I really love Messenger Plus!
I need some help with the sound in Plus!, I can't hear the sound that my friend send to me, I've tried the MPEG1 and 2 codec, even installed the codecs that some recomended here, but still no sound. Someone wrote to reinstall Windows Media Player 9, but I'm using Media Player 10.... what about that?
I install the Matrix sound plugin and that works without any problem..
Can't understand why Matrix sound works and the ones that comes with Plus! doesn't.

What else could I try to make it work?

TIA

As WMP10 is newer than WMP9, a reinstall attempt of that may do the trick.

You may be able to trick WMP into redownloading the MPEG codecs by playing an MPEG movie or an MP3 file.
In fact, that would be a useful test to see if the MPEG codecs are installed and working correctly.

Thanks for the reply.
No problem to playing an mpeg movie or an  mp3 file with WMP.
Don't know if this info could help to sort the problem out - when I use the Matrix sound plugin, I can hear the sound in my speakers, but when I use the emotion sound I don't hear anything, when I used this emation sound on my old computer I could hear the sound in my speakers.

Can it be a raouter problem?

It's got nothing to do with your router. Routers have nothing to do with sound.

As for what else you can try, I'm out of ideas now.

Hello,
I have had the same problem.  My sound use to work fine on MSN & Plus, but stopped a few days ago.  I did find changing my Sound codec from Mpeg 2 to Mpeg 1 did fix the sound problem.

I am also using Windows Media Player 10.

I will let you know if I find out root cause of this...

Maybe you can try downloading the sound codecs from Microsoft. Check out this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?F...601&DisplayLang=en
Since you are using Windows Media Player 10, I assume that you have Windows XP, cause only Windows XP can use Media Player 10...
(The minimum requirements there requires Windows XP...)
