O.P. DVD Autoring Software
Hey guys is time for me to be on the reciving end of advice. My cousins wedding was a few weeks ago and I video taped it for them. So now I decided I wanted to try and make the video into a DVD with menus and such. Now I need good DVD autoring software. Right now I am downloading the trial of Ulead DVD MovieFactory to see if it has what I need. But other then that I am at a loss. Can anyone suggest some good software for me to try?

Thanks much.

If you have a DVD burner it likely came with some kind of software. I use a program that came with my HP DvD writter and it works great (it's not made by HP, and I don't have it installed right now so I'll get a name later).

It basically lets you do everything that Windows Movie Maker does but faster, easier and includes several other features.

Note: If you want to add 'chapters', good luck :P It can be very dodgy with most DVD programs :dodgy:

My comp came with some cruddy software to make DVDs...it was unstable and would only do it with MPEG or uncompressed AVI files...

Then I found Nero Vision express, and despite how n00bish it may sound it is actually very good and user friendly. The latest version has many options, it transcodes very quickly in version 3. However like all DVD authoring software it only works with 25fps or 30fps inputs...or the video goes a little jerky. It's very easy to create menus and to use without screwing up. So I'd go with it...
