Everytime I bring up America Online to check my email briefly. MSN 7.0 disconnects/reconnects and so does AIM. I have comcast cable as my ISP so it all should stay up. I just got a new computer on Christmas and it has XP SP2. MSN 7.0 no patches. AIM 5.5 and AOL 9.0 its driving me crazy. on my old computer i had sp1 and everything stayed connected.

have you updated it to msn 7.0.4225, because my msn 7.0.2..etc...  kept doing that but i no longer have the problem coz i updated

If you have Norton AntiVirus, turn off IM scanning.

I don't have Norton and I download 7.0 from the official MSN beta site. I do have MacFee. I'll look in there.

ok, i checked, aim, aol 9.0 were in my macfee personal ultities list to allow access. i added msn so we'll se what happens.

sometimes u have a big load on your internet so it disconnects to keep other things going like downloads then when there is a chance for it to connect again it will reconnect

Yes, I know the internet disconnects sometimes but it does it wayyy to much every time I log on AOL, msn/aim will reconnect itself. It didnt do it on my old computer and i still have the same connection as i had on there on my new computer and i asked my dad and brother if the nets gone down. they said no, its working fine. i think it has something to do with MacFee and sp2. cos i had sp1 and norton on my old puter. its just very annoying and i would like to fix it.

nevermind fixed it. it was AOLs firewall so reinstalled the connectivy services for it
