hotmail still works for me

Mine works, in Home, but I was at a friend's house (Windows 98 SE, IE 6 SP1) and it gave me this error. I also try using Firefox, and still the same error. I was behind a "slow", but good connection tho. (I could access other pages)

Probably some configuration problem.

I thought about that, but didn't have idea... maybe in the browser, with security or cookies? But its hotmail, a Microsoft product, IE should work smoothly...

Not only IE settings, but maybe a firewall or other software could be interferring. You said it was under Windows 98, you can check the complete list of running processes with TaskInfo.
