i have created a hotmail account for my m8 but when i try and log into msn messenger it doesnt log in. it says 'sign in name doesnt exist or password isnt correct'

the code it gives is 81000303. i definately have got the username and password correct.

is sumfing rong with msn?

If it isn't your e-mail/password then try this : click start, then run. Type: "regsvr32 softpub.dll" (without speech marks) and press enter. This should now let you sign in. Hope this helps.

Just had someone on irc with the problem that everyone seems to be having. What Carltos Cool said didn't work but when they tried the following it did:

Thanks. ive dun everything else. at the moment i am just updating the OS. i can log onto my existing account but i cant log onto my m8s new account. but i can log into hotmail.com with my m8s new account.

if it still doesnt log in wt could it be. thanks. its not onli this computer or internet provider that doesnt allow the new account to log in.

try changing the password at passport.net.

That worked for me once

i had that problem for me before too, what i did is i right click on the messenger tray icon> sign in> click "get a .Net passport!"> sign up and i am pretty sure that will work

it doesnt let me register it on .net passport because it is ...@hotmail.com and it says that it is a reserved email ending

would it have anything to do with msn planning to do some maintence work? i can log into existing accounts that ive had for bout 3 years and my other m8s account which is a few years old aswell also works. but the new account for my m8 who has only just got the internet doesnt work. and doesnt log into hotmail either now.
