I've just had a friend sign on to messenger and we've both had messages saying the other has added us to their list - do we want to allow - and said yes. But both see each other as offline!?

I'm using windows messenger, and I assume she is too - although I only just found out tonight that there is a difference between MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger...

I've never had this problem before - I've been able to chat with 10-15 others - including one tonight. Can someone suggest what I/we must be overlooking - or what could be wrong?

is Windows Messenger your using Currently up to date ? should be 4.7.3000 i think,

I had this problem before also, and it only occured once to me.

I just restarted my PC and Messenger, and it just went back to normal again.

No idea what made it happened though...

Yes, I've got the latest version (4.7.3000) I'm not sure about my friend.

Let's hope now with both computers (and both brains) rebooted it works! (Will have to wait and see probably next week when we're both online at same time)
