It sais I need UDF file system for files larger than 2 gigs and it's not comptible with DVD-VIDEO

well yeah, but thats not burning.. thats just imaging..

So why can't I image a 2gig file with nero?

You're doing it wrong...

You have to make a DVD image (which is different from a CD image). Nero thinks you want to make a CD image which can't be more than 700mb

I am doing it right.  It's multiple chapters from the dvd section of nero.
