O.P. Hide the log files
Hi,

I'm running version 3.25.106 and, as a parent,  would like to save encrypted log files of my kids conversations in a non-standard location. I've got it set up to do that now but Msg Plus still offers the command in its drop down menu to open the log files. This shows where they are stored and allows my kids to simply delete them. How can I turn off that "open log file" command?

Thanks.

Yes Dylan I hear what you are saying but some day you may be a parent and you'll understand that sometimes you have to do things to protect your kids. Thanks for replying.

You can't delete/remove commands from the drop-down menu.

Thanks for the answer Leo. That's what I was afraid of. It would be a nice feature...

well, you have to put a password in to open the file, is it not feasible to set the file so that it asks for that password when you want to delete/move/etc the file??

RE: Hide the log files
If you hide the folder containing the chat logs by right-clicking the folder and choosing hidden, then when the link in the plus menu is clicked the folders will not be visible.
To view them again you need to choose:
tools>Folder Protection>View>Show hidden files and folders

But his sons can do this again and they will see the files (if they are not stupids, they can think about the folder is hidden if they go to the last folder shown by Msg Plus! and they don't see any file there)

Hiding the folder is a good idea, you can also password protect the preferences of Messenger Plus! to prevent your children from seeing the log path (or changing it).
