O.P. MSN Web Messenger
A friend of mine that was blocked through the company network from using MSN had been using MSN Web Messenger for about one week and it was working great.

Now this morning she cannot access it nor hotmail - is it possible that the IT people have blocked whatever access is needed for that?  I was under the impression that it was going through the internet and since it required no software download then it would not be visible to the IT people.

Any suggestions or ideas as to go around this?

Thanks.

RE: MSN Web Messenger
it is possible that your friends IT Administrator has blocked access to the web messenger URL or some activeX component needed to run web msn.

Has your friend tried using an IP converter to access webmsn?

http://webmessenger.msn.com/ -> http://207.46.110.252

This works when i try to access forbidden sites at school

how does she try accessing the IP converter?  Does she type in  http://207.46.110.252?

Thanks.

She's trying it now and will let you know.  Thanks.

I used an IP converter (found from google http://baremetal.com/cgi-bin/dnsip) to convert to that number

She simply types in http://207.46.110.252 where you would type in a website address

and it should work, if this doesn't then her IT managers have blocked this access aswell
