O.P. Problem with external harddrive
I have a LaCie 250GB external hard drive which I use to save film and other media to use in my homemade movies.
Yesterday when I was browsing the disk it just froze. After some minutes a message that said "The disk in station G is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?" popped up. (The message can be different than the English version.) I clicked No because I don't want to lose anything that I have stored on it.
The same thing happens if I try to access it in other ways.

I've tried defragmenting and checking it with the Windows tools without any results. (The check tool just said that it could not complete.)

The disk is pretty new (6 months).
I have Windows XP SP2.

What should I do? Is there any software that can fix my problem?

Hmm, you could try using File Scavenger to retrieve files from the disk.

Perhaps try and use a different cable to hook it up, that could be causing problems reading from the disk.
