O.P. Photoshop CMYK Help
Hey, I made an image in RGB color mode and then later was told it needed to be in CMYK color mode for printing. So, my dilemma is this.. after converting the mode from RGB to CMYK, my colors (mainly the green) have dulled. Does anyone know how I can replicate the same green as can be seen in the first image (RGB) into the second image (CMYK) ?

CMYK

Thanks in advance.

i dont think there is any way you can preserve the green color when you convert to cmyk. i think one way to have that same color is to do this -in photoshop for instance: preset the image mode to cmyk and edit the image again :S...

sorry :(

I added a luminosity layer of a shade of green at the bottom of the image, it made it look better, but still not what I wanted.. there's no glow to it anymore.

RE: Photoshop CMYK Help
if you have some previous copies saved, maybe you can just edit them to that color -already having preset the image mode and working in cmyk.. that way when you save it, it will already be cmyk and you won't have to convert it, thus not losing the green color/glow

:( i hope that somebody does find a solution to your problem, cuz the image looks like it took a lot of work

RE: Photoshop CMYK Help
It depends on how you're trying to convert it to CMYK.  The gamut for CMYK is smaller, but it should convert reasonably well.  Which version of photoshop are you using?  Instead of just going up to Image > Mode > CMYK, go to Image > Mode (?) > Convert to Profile - change the boxes there to convert to the CMYK profile that your printer requests, and mess around with the rendering intents box - I'd guess Perceptual will work best.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Victoria! I messed around with the profile options and got it pretty close to it's original colour :)
