O.P. Boss Protection Bug
Hey guys.
I am new to your forums and as a member but not to MSG PLUS.

i know i have probally posted this in the wrong place... sorry bear with me i am just trying to help.

BUG:
Block someone
then activate boss protection
the blocked person tries to add you as a new contact
  • A pop up will occur asking if you want to add new contact ect EVEN THOUGH boss mode is activated.... meaning boss mode is not working 100% am i right ?

stats:
Windows XP SP2
MSN Messenger 7 build 425
Messenger Plus build 3.40.112
______________________________

I am aware that is this only a BETA build and there will be problems but can i be assured that when the final release is here that while in boss protection i will not get any pop ups ?

I would like to thank you in advance and say sorry if this has been posted allready.

RE: Boss Protection Bug
stupid question but - does this happen only when you block an individual? or any time that a person tries to add you to their list?

that should not happen to begin with, no matter if Plus! is installed or not.

If you block a person
and after that the person tries to add you again
you should _not_ recieve a popup, as that person is already on your allow/block list!

(the fact that you blocked the person first doesn't matter at all, he is already on your list so you shouldn't recieve anything)

so, if this is like you said, then that's a bug in MSN Messenger 7 to begin with... (note: it does not happen in MSN Messenger 6.2, it works like it should, and since this is a protocol thing mainly, I have my doubts about the bug)

So, all the above is even without Plus!...

-------------

but anyways, yes, you will recieve a popup while you are in boss mode if someone tries to add you, also with the latest private beta.... (I think though, because it is hard to test with only polgamy, to test this decently you need two seperate computers because boss protection is global, aka will hide all open messengers. And you need a perfect knowledge of what the allow, block and reverse lists are)
