O.P. Roll Eyes  Msn Messenger beta
Hello,
I tried to use the MSN Beta, and was very unhappy, because what it did was freeze up. I got know error message, it just froze up solid.

Now, I have removed it, and was trying to download Windows Messenger, but to no avail. It is saying I have to have Windows XP SP2, well excuse me? I tried to install SP2, and I got a screwed up Computer for my efforts.

So Now I want to know if I need to reformat to a newer Windows XP Home?
I am running into all kinds of problems with Microsoft. I am sure it is because I don't have SP2 in it, but SP2 does not seem to be compatible with the XP Home I am running.

Or, do I just have a Computer that needs help?

Does anyone else have these same problems with a 2001 XP?

Thanks in advance

Windows XP SP2 comes with Windows Messenger already installed. If you cant find it, go to CONTROL PANELS, ADD/REMOVE and ADD WINDOWS COMPONENTS. Tick Windows Messenger. This will give you access to Windows Messenger. I think when you sign in, you will get an 'update alert' The update can be downloaded in Windows Messenger or you can get it from the Windows Update site.
