O.P. Changing personalised status automatically.
Does the personalized status changing only work when you manually set the status?

I have MSN set to show away after 1 minute of inactivity automatically - will this engage personalised status?

Also will the 1 away setting in plus! work or conflict with the away status in MSN?

Thx.

Sorry, but this isn't a feature of plus!, but a feature of MSN Messenger.

The inactivity option doesn't actually change your status to 'Away', so the PersoStatus dialog is not shown. The status it changes to is actually 'Idle', but Messenger still uses 'Away' on the contact list.

To change to your Personalised Status after a while, you need to deactivate the "auto-away" feature of MSN Messenger, and activate the "auto-away" feature of Messenger Plus!

It will work together, sort of. Of course one will always overrule the other...

eg:
You could set MSN Messenger "auto-away" feature to be activated after 5 minutes and set Messenger Plus! "auto-away" feature to be activated after 10 minutes and change to Personalised status "(Gone)". This will make you go "Away (Idle)" after 5 minutes, and after another 5 minutes to "Gone".

But note, that the "auto-away" feature of MSN Messenger only works when you status is "online".

Thanks to y'all...

OK -  I have the personalized status working great with several responses.  Is there a way though, to make it turn it off again when you move the mouse, like MSN does?  It's a bit of a pain to remember to turn it off everytime.

Is there an advanced setting or a regedit for this?

Thx.

I first asked Patchou for this feature 3 years ago (and a few reminders since then).

I even posted about it in this forum a year ago and got a lot of support for the idea, but it never seems to get fixed.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for this to be resolved.
