Lame attempt at what exactly? They are just making builds of a product which is under development, and someone leaks one once in a while. Don't be paranoid, if they wanted to stop Plus from working they've done that long ago.

This new beta is currently only avalaible in English.... All other Versions is still Build 405

It's a Public Beta, so you can grab it from http://messenger.msn.com/Beta/

There is also a gay MSN Messenger 8 Alpfa but it:

I have that... but that didn't come today at all, it's weeks old.

MSN's homepage gives me an older beta, I can't install it because of that... are you sure it's there? Or is this actually an older build?
