Yeah dBPowerAmp music converter works very good! I use it to lower the bitrate of mp3 files (to 128 kbps) so they take less space on my mp3 player . It's also a very good piece of software to rip from cd's.
I might even convert my whole music collection from my beloved 320kbps (or higher i'm an audiophile) to fit on my zen micro.
Does playing songs of a higher bitrate drain the battery faster? i remember the zen micro boasting a 12 hour battery but i swear its not lasted that long for me

Yes it does! (At least... one of friends says it does ).
And do you really hear a difference between 192kbps and 320kbps
