Adaware works perfect.....I had to delete that one time too, just try that and see what happens...

also do the spyware or adware searches in Safe mode.

normally it has, yes... but who bothers looking in the "add/remove programs" section of the config panel these days, when they can download and use another program which useually only removes half of the program.... (and then they complain their pc's is beeped up)... pfftt...

EDIT: maybe I wasn't clear enough what I wanted to say: I've also had to remove Cool Web Search many times on friends and families computer and I have always been succesfull in doing it by simply running it's own uninstaller, just as Absorbation said (sometimes you have to do it in safe mode though)......

Try CWShredder, its a tool to delete Cool Web Search.
