A bar owner in the US has been charged after shooting his laptop computer.

George Doughty is said to have fired four bullets into the Dell computer in the middle of his bar and restaurant in Lafayette, Colorado.

Police say he then hung the destroyed machine on the wall like a hunting trophy.

Doughty, 48, entered the bar from his office, announced he was going to shoot his computer and returned to his office, reports the Knox news website.

Police say 30 minutes later Doughty set his laptop on the floor, warned two customers at the bar to cover their ears and fired away. No one was injured.

Doughty is accused of putting the customers and bartender in danger and was arrested on suspicion of menacing, reckless endangerment and prohibited use of weapons.

Well shame people cant take a joke really i mean if he had hurt someone fair enough but iwell dont know all the detials do we so he migth have been acting like a mad man just seems abit ermmm odd to arrest him for it someone probably wants to sue him thats why

This is really old, another man was put in prison for shooting his computer with a shotgun several times... Its petty crimes like this that really annoy me tbfh...

I think Microsoft should be charged, not him. Probably the stupid computer crashed and he got furious and was tired of a stupid computer...

ye he should be put in jail. Think about it. What kind of lunatic would go into the middle of a restaurant just to shoot his computer. He has problems to do that. Now be reasonable. Who would shoot a computer. Maybe he shouldnt be charged with putting people in danger but still.
