if u r asking for global sound notification... (the sound when contact comes online or new msg alert etc.) u can already do this from windows....
go to control panel>sound and audio device>sounds then in program event scroll down to msn mesenger .. then select the event ( of which u want to change the sound) browse the sound u want to put then test if by the play button beside browse (if u want).. then klik on apply or ok button..:)
if it doesn't work then post here again...
and if u dont mean to sound notification then make it klear.....

Do you mean these notifications: ?

you can set them all to show by going to msgplus! preferences -> Notifictations -> Pop -up Defaults -> then disable 'custom sign in notifications'

then goto msn messenger -> tools -> options -> alerts & sounds -> tick 'display alert when contact comes online'

like i said in my previous post when using msn's own alert when contact comes online, the custom names are sometimes to many characters and some characters dont display..

hmmm ok sorry bout d post....... i think this would be a gd idea because it already has options for 'events that will generate notifications for all your contact' '-contact goes offline' and '-contact changes his/her name'
i think it isn't there because msn messenger does it already but i think it would be useful to add as your problem would be fixed by it and so may other people having the same problem...
