O.P. Sad  Background music in firefox... [Solved, but have an other question]
Hello.

I want to put background music on my webpage...
I know about the <bgsound> (or however it is :P) tag but this only works on IE because it isn't W3C compatible.

So anyway, I thought swf files, so, I downloaded a trial of Macromedia Flash MX...
But I could not find how to put background music on the flash file... :(

Do you know anyway so I can put background music on firefox?

Thanks!! :)

There's a reason they disabled bg music support in firefox :refuck:

Well in FLASH you add the file to the library then drag it onto the timeline (though with no preloader it could result in choppy play).

If I were you I'd download "SWISH" which is a far more basic FLASH program.

This code works for me in FireFox, however it can sometimes be buggy
code:
<embed src="" width=50 height=15 autostart=true align=right repeat=true>
Between the quotation marks just put the address of the audio file, as you would with the bgsound tag.
Since it's not technically formal HTML it may have some bugs now and again, and on some audio files may not work.

Convert it to an <object> tag to bring it inline with the standard, then try it.

O.P. RE: Background music in firefox...
Thank you, I tried both <embed> and <object> and both worked...

However, there is one problem... :(

It lags as hell!

Ofcourse, this could be my Intel Pentium II 233 mhz computer :D

I will try the swish program blade recommended me, because flash music plays fine on the 233 mhz computer :P

Thanks!

Edit: Just as I thought, the music lagging was because of the *cough*good*cough* computer...
I tried it in the laptop and it worked fine! :)

The only problem is that what if the users dont have apple quicktime?
The full setup is around 16 MBs... :(

Is there any way so I can use Windows Media Player?

Why do you need music? No one wants to be forced into listening to music when visiting a site.
The previous sentence is false. The following sentence is true.

It may be a sample of the work of an artist segosa :P, in that case it would be good if it didn't auto play and you could play it manually to listen to their work ;)
Segosa is newb.
