O.P. Firefox Error
quote:
The browser was unable to connect to the specified site, even though it exists. This may be because the site does not accept connections from your computer, the service may be down, or the site does not support the service or port that you tried to connect to.

It's so annoying! Happens on lodes of sites!

How can I make it so this does not happen?

It seems like I can't get onto 25% of the web because of this error! :P;)

RE: Firefox Error
Do you  have a router or a modem?
Have you changed any settings in the Firefox preferences?
Try loading the page up in IE, see if it loads correctly there (then we know it's firefox).

It says Page cannot be displayed on IE :S

I have a cable modem. (broadband)

Here's an example:
http://www.killsometime.com/
The banner at top and side say cannot be displayed on IE and the error on FF.

It's just that it says "even though it exists" in the error emssage :S
Is it the same for you?

Do you have a software firewall?

Since this isnt just a firefox issue, maybe someone should change the thread title?

Zone alarm sucks! I don't know why people use it, it doesnt even block traffic properly and it causes more trouble than its worth.

Chris4 - disable your firewall (and any other internet "security" programs), the pages should work then. Basically, your firewall is blocking what it believes to be ads / spyware etc.
