There is a realtively old news article that says that they have found a way to stop addiction to Heroine by surpressing the gene responsible for the addiction relapse.

Now, my question... Do you think that this is a breakthrough that will reduce the amount of Heroine users, or will it create a culture of people thinking they can take more Herione because they will be able to become unaddicted by going to a clinic?

Or, will we start to see the proibition of drugs, and Heroine will come with this addiction supressor built in, so Herione becomes a new type of Alcohol?

It would cure the problems that we have today but tomorrow it will create unforseen circumstances like u mentioned and that'd be bad

Thats rite ... u know the stuff is bad for u and yet u goto it for any reason ... if u wanna come out of it then thats good but then it shouldnt cause probs like the ones said above cause that'd be simply aweful and very distructive imho

True...but everyone makes mistakes.  Almost every single teen has done weed at least once, if they had this "heroin" gene except it worked on "weed", they would be addicted to weed and if they wanted to get off, they would have to work real hard.

There is a drug they currently use for suppressing the gene, dont remember the name though.

i totally agree...yeah it could help cure some people and for others itll make em use more knowing that theyll be able to be cured but also people my think harder and not use it because its becoming so bad that they are making more clinics and stuff and trying to get rid of it?
