In my opinion AVG is the best. It doesn't slow down the computer. :)

Defiantly AVG and it runs in the background. IT also comes up a pop up when you download something which has a virus :) !
Plus you can set it to when it runs automtically which is useful . I put it on when im at schoool :)

AVG also causes lots of problems, can't be bothered now to look for threads. It certainly isn't the only AV running in the background, i used antivir and it does that too. No automatic updates tho, unless you set it in the scheduler to do so. I read the page of Avast aswell (can run in the background too) and to me this seems like the best option.

Edit: I just switched to Avast, as it has more (advanced)options than antivir..works fine!

I used to use Avast before I got Norton. It worked well and automatically updated. It ran in the background so half the time I didn't know it was there.

Had some dodgy skins though which made it look more like a music player than a av software*-)

I've used AVG for ages now and it's been great. Regularly upadated, sorted out all viruses problems i've encountered, that's all i want really, and it's been fine for me.

Then again, i haven't tried any other anit virus programs, so i couldn't compare, but AVG is definitely worth looking in to.
