O.P. Just a crappy question...
Is it possible for a game to come bad burned or something?

I just bought BF2 and i cant run it on my comp, my DVD reader starts making noises and doesnt read it at all.. on the internet ive found a lot of stuff talking about the same thing about this LG reader and there is a firmware update ( which im not thinking about doing because its too risky ).

The weird thing is that Half LifeČ came as DVD-ROM and it plays it without problem..

On LG site:

" New firmware (ver. 0102) for only GDR-8161B(16X DVD-ROM Drive)
Please check your DVD-ROM Drive model.

Improved Point:
Enhanced the readability for DVD-ROM "

Which makes me think its really a problem of the reader..

A new computer is coming soon and this computer very very very very hardly handles this game so im not that bothered except for the fact it could be the DVD.

Tomorrow im going to look for the old DVD reader i have ( it had a problem of closing itself [ ] and playing DVD movies awfully ) to see where the problem comes from :)

Yeah, lots of people have had problems with the Sims 2 DVD-ROM. Apparently, a good portion of the discs have errors, so many people have had to return to the store and exchange their copies. :dodgy:

This game is from EA too and fortunately the disc was good, i replaced the new DVD drive by the old one and it worked...

Download D-Tools, downlaod the ISO's off bittorent, and use the CD key you got. Then use a no CD patch/crack. THis is what I had to do with mine since I bought the game just for the CD KEY (Didnt have a DVD Drive)

**THIS IS NOT ILLEGAL** since you bought the retail version of the game. Its mostly thier fault for rushing another Battlefield. THis should fix your dvd probles

I wouldnt Update the Firmware if I were you. Firmware updates you cant rollback on unless you have a flashcard thing. ANd if you screw up updating your firmware, say goodbye to your DVD Drive.

Just use my tecnuqe... its alot safer that firmwareupdating.

He already stated it's not a BF2 CD problem, but his dvd drive prob...then, When you literally buy a game, normally it's to give your support to the Producer and...not spend 112312408134981276 hours downloading it?...
