RE: encryption password
I no this might be illegal, but there is away. Windows has to store the passwords somewere so you can download a password finder thing. It detects all the passwords you've ever put on the pc...

EDIT: I may be wrong but it looks a little suspicious wanting to get into encrypted logs... I bet there someone elses and you want to see or something. Sorry if im bieng rude :P

RE: RE: encryption password
Messenger Plus! log file encryption passwords are not stored anywhere and can not be retrieved in any way

Phoenix doesnt have anything to do with this. It can only reset the lock preferences password (which is in fact very easy to do by yourself).

Nope, there is no way...

Windows doesn't store the password anywhere...

And passwords don't have to be stored somewhere anyways. Password are often used as encryption keys (which is the case in Messenger Plus!) The Key is used to calculate the encryption/dycryption and thus it isn't needed to store it at all.

Totally useless...

Each application and program that uses passwords use the passwords in different ways and if they are stored they are stored all in a different way. Windows has got nothing to do with this. Programs of which you speak of don't exist in a sense that each password finder program is specifically designed to find password for certain programs. There is no such thing as a magic all-around password finder.

He doesn't want to spy on logs from other people, he encrypted his own logs and "lost" the password...

what you need to do is go into the PLUS! menu in messenger, click on preferences, click on the Privacy protection tab on the left side, click on the passwords tab at the top of the window, then at the bottom of the window, there will be a checkbox that says " Encrypt all my logs to protect my privacy " just incheck that and it should all be fine...
That will not help at all, though...

It will only help for futur logging, which will not be encrypted anymore. The OP has asked for a way to open his existing encrypted logs, which is totally impossible without the proper password.

;)
