hi there, i have a problem. I recently formatted my computer but before I did that, I backed up a copy of both msn messenger and messenger plus 3 hoping that I cant retain my "custom names" when i reinstall over them after my reformat. However, that doesn't seem to work =( and I have lost all my custom names is there any way I can get them back? I'd really appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

The custom names where in a registry, so if you don't have backup, you can not retain them

the process to save and restore ur data ( custom names, custom sounds etc ) .. go to plus preferences and there in the left bottom u see save/ load click on it and follow the screen...
but if u didnt save ur setting by this method u can restore them.... IMO
