on my newly built computer there is a problem with reading CD-RWs. when i insert a cd-rw in the cd drive i go to my computer and when i click on the D drive this error message appears: D\ is not accessable,  This device is not ready.

anyone know a solution or can anyone tell me why it will not read cd-rws (it reads CD-Rs tho)

I think you'll need to format it. Also is WXP right?

If your CD drive is really old, it just may not be able to read them.

ya it is pretty old...TylerG got it when windows 95 was out. it has windows 98 on it
